What are your top five favorite Broadway shows?
#3. Miss Saigon
#4. Disney’s The Lion King
#5. Dear Evan Hansen
What was the first Broadway show you saw?
My first Broadway show was Wicked. I was amazed by the production. When I left the SHN Orpheum Theatre, I was in a daze of almost child-like awe.
Which character in a musical or play do you most identify with and why?
Elphaba! She has good intentions, but sometimes is simply misunderstood. She is fiercely independent, but realizes when she needs help from others.
What does theater and/or Broadway mean to you?
Theater is an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. For just a few hours, I can forget what’s going on in my professional and personal lives and focus on the lives of the characters on stage. I feel lighter and happier when I leave the theater.
What is one thing that someone would be surprised to know about you?
I will not sing for anyone! I have talented sisters who were blessed with beautiful voices, but I missed that checkbox. As a Filipina, it’s almost blasphemous to not know how to sing.
Do you have any hidden talents?
If you could have dinner with one person (living or dead), who would it be and why?
I would have dinner with Lea Salonga. She’s a beautiful soul and seems very fun to engage with.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Doctor. Still working on that dream!
Is there anything else that we (and other Broadway fans) should know about you?
One of my dream vacations is to go to New York and watch musicals every day that I’m there.
