What does theater mean to you?
Good theatre is a religious experience—an experience of a human being joining the creator to show us who we are, who we can be, who we want to be, and what blessings we are.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Introducing so many accomplished Broadway professionals to theater, including Adam Jacobs from Aladdin. I was his high school drama teacher!

Oscar Hammerstein II or Stephen Sondheim.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A theater director. And I did.
Is there anything else that we should know about you?
After 18 weeks in the hospital flat on my back from an accident and back surgery, two weeks after coming home, I returned to church—the SHN Golden Gate Theatre—for Pippin. Then I knew I was cured.
