SHN Announces Partnership with Dress for Success and HAMILTON
Career Spotlight Panel to showcase roles that SHN and HAMILTON women play both on and offstage
Patrons attending HAMILTON in March can make a difference by donating new and gently used handbags and shoes
SHN announced today an exclusive partnership with Dress for Success San Francisco in conjunction with HAMILTON. The partnership begins on International Women’s Day, Friday, March 8, 2019 with a special career spotlight panel on women in the arts, to be held at Bloomingdale’s Westfield Center.
The panel will showcase the roles that women play both on and off stage at SHN and HAMILTON and feature cast member Sabrina Sloan, Music Director Lily Ling, Production Stage Manager Kimberly Fisk, and Company Manager Roeya Banuazizi. They will be joined by SHN Vice President of Production Regina Guggenheim, Senior Marketing Manager Amanda Hogan, and Head Ushers Domenique Charles and Lorraine Williams.
Immediately after the Career Panel, Dress for Success San Francisco clients will meet individually with the panelists in a series of quick-change interviews in which they can ask questions and receive advice about entering the workforce. One Dress for Success client will also be treated to a complimentary shopping spree, courtesy of Bloomingdales.
Beginning March 8 and continuing through the end of March, patrons attending HAMILTON at the SHN Orpheum Theatre can also help make a difference by donating new and gently-used handbags and shoes for Dress for Success San Francisco.
SHN will also participate in the Dress for Success initiative “Your Hour, Her Power” by making a financial contribution and encouraging staff and HAMILTON company members to donate one hour of their salaries to the organization. This Worldwide campaign was partially inspired by the Broadway cast of HAMILTON who donated their salaries on International Women’s Day in 2017.
“We are so pleased to be working with Dress for Success San Francisco in bringing attention to the work being done helping women prepare to enter the workplace as confident individuals,” stated SHN CEO Greg Holland. “SHN proudly provides opportunities for women at every level of our company and we celebrate them, and the amazing team of women involved with HAMILTON. SHN has a long history of working with local community partners to help elevate their visibility. These partnerships help illuminate the work being done to improve our Bay Area community by amazing organizations like Dress for Success and gives our audiences a chance to help improve the lives of others.”
“Dress for Success San Francisco is incredibly grateful for the support of SHN and HAMILTON,” stated Dress for Success Executive Director Erin Badillo. “On International Women’s Day, we are asking our community to participate in Your Hour, Her Power, where individuals donate an hour of their pay to support a woman in achieving financial empowerment and upward mobility in the workplace. With support from great partners like SHN, HAMILTON, and our donors, we are more than a suit; we are a global force for change.”
